Spring has finally arrived and the parkway gardens along The Magnificent Mile look Magnificent!!!

The Spring 2019 Magnificent Mile® Beautification Walk was rained out this season but we had several Public Way Committee members conduct the walk on their own.  A special thank you to our dedicated members who braved the unseasonable weather in early May to make sure the beautiful gardens were judged. Members of the committee graded each property on North Michigan Avenue between the Chicago River and Oak Street in order to assess the condition of trees, plants, fixtures, sidewalks and façades. The tulips and spring plantings looked full and vibrant this year and have thrived despite the ever changing weather this season.

We are pleased to announce the winning property for Spring 2019 is:

1.  118 E. Erie Street/Ritz Carlton Residences of Chicago

Rounding out the top four scoring properties for the Spring 2019 season are:

2.  875 N. Michigan Avenue, HEARN
Landscape contractor: Interior Garden Services, Inc

3.  625 N. Michigan Avenue/Golub Realty Services
Landscape Contractor:  Clarence Davids & Company

4.  626 N. Michigan Avenue (Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago)
Landscape contractor: Interior Garden Services, Inc.

The Public Way Committee would like to thank all of the property owners and managers along The Magnificent Mile and their landscape contractors who worked so diligently in preparing their beautiful garden designs and maintaining outstanding public way conditions this season.

We would also like to express our appreciation and thanks to the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago, 626 N. Michigan Avenue, for graciously hosting a breakfast and committee review meeting for our Public Way Committee judges after each of the 2018/1019 Beautification Walks.

Our Public Way Committee is looking forward to beautiful and creative gardens and pristine property conditions as the 2018-2019 series ends with the Summer Walk in early July. The annual awards for the 2018-2019 series will be presented to top scoring properties at the Association’s Fall Membership Luncheon.
