Alderman Reilly is very pleased to announce that additional public safety measures have been installed in Streeterville. In response to a number of residential requests for city surveillance cameras on Grand Avenue, between Inner Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive, Alderman Reilly asked the Office of Emergency Management and Communication (OEMC) to survey this location for installation of (discreetly placed) Police Department POD cameras.
The Alderman allocated a portion of the Aldermanic Menu to fund the installation of three City POD cameras on East Grand Avenue, between Inner Lake Shore Drive and North Columbus Drive. The cameras, installed in October 2018, will assist the Chicago Police Department in monitoring Streeterville.
Alderman Reilly is dedicated to leveraging all available City resources to enhance safety in the Central Business District. The cameras ensure public safety monitoring of this area on a consistent basis and allow dispatch of officers in real-time.
