The 2019 Magnificent Mile® Beautification Awards were presented Tuesday, October 8 at the Magnificent Mile Association’s Fall Membership luncheon held at the Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile. Even with extreme weather fluctuations over the past four seasons, from polar vortexes to drenching rains, the landscaped gardens along The Magnificent Mile and in the surrounding neighborhoods of the District have never looked better!

Members of the Planning & Advocacy Division’s Public Way Committee judged each property on North Michigan Avenue and rated their landscaped parkway gardens as well as the condition of sidewalks, facades, and trees. A total of 39 awards were presented at the luncheon under the categories of Chairman’s Landscape of the Year, Honor, Merit, Neighborhood Recognition, and Landscape Contractor.

The Association was pleased to award the 2019 Chairman’s Landscape Award to the property at 625 N. Michigan Avenue which is managed by Golub Realty Services and to their property’s landscape contractor, Clarence Davids & Company.

The Public Way Committee would like to thank all the property owners, building managers, and landscape contractors for their commitment to maintaining and enhancing the beauty of the Magnificent Mile District. The Committee would also like to thank the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago and their General Manager, Fred Fletcher, for graciously hosting our Public Way Committee for breakfast after the beautification walks this past year.
