There is still time to see the MAGNIFICENT Fall parkway gardens!

After presenting the 2019 Beautification Awards to the top scoring properties at the Association’s Membership Luncheon on October 8th at the Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile, our Public Way Committee started the 2019-2020 Beautification Walk Series with the Fall walk last week.

Beautiful mums of all colors, decorative cabbages, scarecrows and pumpkins of all sizes have replaced the summer plantings in the parkway gardens along The Magnificent Mile®. This year, we are pleased to see many gardens maintain sustainable plantings that are able to survive through varied weather conditions and seasons.

The scores for all of the properties are not just based on the beautiful landscaping but also include the cleanliness and condition of the building facades, parkway trees, sidewalks and planter railings.

We are pleased to announce the winning property for Fall 2019 is:

1. 676 N. Michigan Avenue (CBRE/Omni Chicago Hotel)

Landscape Contractor: Interior Garden Services, Inc.

Rounding out the top five scoring properties for the Fall 2019 season are:

2. 118 E. Erie Street (Ritz Carlton Residences)

3. 625 N. Michigan Avenue (Golub Realty Services)

Landscape Contractor: Clarence Davids & Company

4. 730 N. Michigan Avenue (Ponte Gadea & Colliers International)

Landscape Contractor: Landscape Concepts Management

5. 663-673 N. Michigan Avenue (Cushman & Wakefield)

Landscape Contractor: Interior Garden Services, Inc

The Public Way Committee would like to thank all the property owners and their landscape contractors who worked so diligently in preparing their beautiful garden designs and maintaining outstanding public way conditions along The Magnificent Mile. The Committee would also like to thank the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago, 626 N. Michigan Avenue for graciously hosting a breakfast and committee review meeting after the Fall Walk.
