On Sunday, October 13, 2019, the 42nd annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon will welcome 45,000 participants to the City of Chicago. Each year, they proudly invite participants, volunteers and spectators to celebrate the Chicago Marathon, which starts and finishes in historic Grant Park and travels through the downtown streets of Chicago.

The Chicago Marathon course map will show you which neighborhoods can expect to see participants, and their street closure map will share where parking restrictions will be located.

 

Notable 2nd Ward Street Closures:

  • LaSalle St.: From Jackson Blvd. to Stockton Dr.
  • Sedgwick St.: From Webster Ave. to North Ave.
  • North Ave.: From Sedgwick St. to Wells St.
  • Wells St.: From North Ave. to Walton St.

If you live on one of the streets along the marathon route you must move your vehicle to another location off the course by Saturday, October 12th, 2019. Towing of vehicles on closed thoroughfares will begin at 1:00 am on Sunday, October 13th. Vehicles that are not removed from the street will be ticketed and towed.
