Dear Members,

We are incredibly proud of the work that Rich Gamble, our Board Chair, has done on behalf of the Association. His tireless efforts to promote the district and its members have led to a renewed energy and interest in joining the organization. As we reflect on Black History Month, we’re also proud that Rich is the first African American who has served in that role.

This weekend marks another opportunity for us to celebrate our diversity. International Women’s Day is March 8 and this year the national campaign’s theme is #EachforEqual.  The Magnificent Mile Association applauds female leaders in business around our district—from managers at major brands to sole proprietors and successful entrepreneurs.

As the first female President and CEO, I follow in the footsteps of strong leaders like Joan Tillman, Holly Agra and Mary Ann Rose, who have all served as Chairs of the Association. Today, close to one third of our Board of Directors are women. It is my privilege to work with all of you to ensure The Magnificent Mile is a great place to do business and a welcoming destination for all in the years to come.

We will be looking for opportunities to recognize and highlight our members throughout the year, so be sure to let us know what you’re doing so we can show you some love.

Lastly, to guide the Association’s work, I ask that you complete a Member Survey this month. The survey speaks to the value of various Association events, marketing and advocacy initiatives and more. As always, you can reach me directly at president@themagnificentmile.com with your feedback.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Bares

President and CEO
